Resume vCard QR Code
Resume vCard QR code for recruiter scans
Type your name, role, work email, mobile phone and LinkedIn URL. The generator builds a vCard QR sized for the top-right corner of a resume header. Export SVG for sharp PDF embedding and print.

How it works
- 1
Fill in the contact fields
Name, job title, work email, mobile phone, LinkedIn URL. Five fields is the right depth.
- 2
Check the vCard payload
We surface the RFC 6350 payload so you can verify fields before printing.
- 3
Download SVG or PNG
SVG embeds sharp in the resume PDF. PNG works for digital portfolios with size caps.
What this resume QR generator does
Five-field vCard payload
Name, role, work email, mobile, LinkedIn URL. Tight enough to print at 2 cm on a resume header.
RFC 6350 standards
vCard 3.0 and 4.0 both supported. Phone contacts apps on iOS and Android parse the payload directly.
Sharp PDF embedding
SVG export holds resolution at any zoom. Recruiters see a clean QR whether they print or read on screen.
Where this helps
Resume header QR
2 cm QR in the top-right corner opposite the candidate name. Caption: `Scan to save my contact`.
Career fair handouts
QR on a business card or one-page leave-behind. Recruiters save the contact at the booth without typing.
LinkedIn cover image
QR on the LinkedIn header banner. Profile visitors save your contact alongside the connection request.
Email signature
Small QR in the email signature block. Recipients save the contact from any email they receive.
Portfolio site footer
QR in the portfolio footer. Hiring managers save the contact while browsing the work samples.
Speaker bio cards
QR on the speaker card at a conference. Attendees save the contact from the session room.
Tips that help
- 1
Five fields, no photo
Name, role, work email, mobile, LinkedIn. Photos bloat the QR pattern and fail to print reliably.
- 2
Top-right of page one
Recruiters skim top-down. The QR sits in the visual line of the name, not buried in the footer.
- 3
Black modules on white
Coloured modules on tinted headers fail camera autofocus. Stick to black on white for reliability.
- 4
Two cm print size
The 10:1 rule gives a 2 cm QR scanning from 20 cm, which matches recruiter reading distance.
How to set up a resume vCard QR recruiters will actually scan
A resume vCard QR is a small printed mark with one job: get a recruiter from a paper or screen resume to a saved contact in two taps. The hard part is what fields go in, where the QR sits on the page, and how big it prints. Get those right and recruiters at a career fair or after a phone screen save your contact without typing.
Set up the vCard payload
Five fields cover the recruiter use case: full name, job title, work email, mobile phone and LinkedIn URL in the `URL` field. Skip the home address (dates the resume), the fax number (irrelevant) and the photo (bloats the pattern).

Use vCard 3.0 or 4.0 format. Most phone contacts apps parse both. The vCard standard is documented by the IETF at RFC 6350 (vCard 4.0); your QR generator handles the encoding, but knowing the spec helps when troubleshooting field-mapping issues.
The NACE job outlook research tracks the channels recruiters use to reach candidates at first contact, and email plus phone remain the dominant pair. The QR's job is to make both addresses one tap to save, not to carry the full resume narrative.
Where the QR sits on the resume page
Top-right corner of page one, opposite the candidate name. Recruiters skim resumes top-down; the QR sits in the visual line of sight at the moment the recruiter reads the name. Caption underneath: `Scan to save my contact`. One line, six words, fits inside the top header band.
Do not put the QR in the footer. Recruiters often discard the footer when stapling pages for a hiring panel, and the QR ends up missing from the review copy. Top-right keeps it stapled with the rest of the resume and visible from the first glance.
Keep the QR clear of headshots, sidebar graphics and column borders. Quiet zone of at least four module widths on every side. Resume templates with heavy header backgrounds can confuse autofocus; place the QR on a clean white panel inside the header band.

What to print around the QR
Candidate name, headline role, QR, caption, contact lines. The contact lines (email, phone, LinkedIn URL) appear as text alongside the QR. The QR is a one-tap save; the text is the fallback for recruiters who do not scan or who read the resume on a screen with no second device handy.
Match the QR colour to the resume palette only if you keep contrast above 4.5:1 between the dark modules and the light background. Black modules on white paper is the safest choice. Coloured modules on a tinted header strip can fail camera autofocus and recruiters will not scan twice.
Skip the QR-with-instructions diagrams. iOS Camera and Android both auto-detect QRs in frame from reading distance. A short caption is enough; the hardware does the rest. Save the header space for your headline role and the LinkedIn URL.
Common mistakes with resume vCard QRs
Stuffing the vCard with every contact channel you have ever owned. A vCard with 50 fields prints at a complex pattern that fails to scan reliably from a printed page. Five fields is enough; recruiters do not want your fax number.
Putting the QR in the footer or page two. Recruiters skim the top of page one. A QR in the footer gets lost when pages are stapled or when the recruiter only prints page one for the hiring panel. Top-right of page one is the right home.
Pointing the QR at a LinkedIn profile URL instead of a vCard payload. LinkedIn QRs open a browser; the recruiter then has to send a connection request to save you. vCard QRs save the contact directly in one tap. LinkedIn URL goes inside the vCard as a field, not as the QR payload.
