SSC GD Photo and Signature Size Maker

SSC GD Constable is the highest-volume exam the Staff Selection Commission runs, with tens of thousands of vacancies in the central forces. One thing trips up many applicants: on the new SSC portal you do not upload a photo file at all, because the camera captures it live, so the file you actually size is your signature.

Output is JPG, resized to your pixels and kept at or under the max KB. If a minimum is set, the file is padded up to it. Always confirm the exact rules in the official notification.

What SSC GD is and how the photo works now

SSC GD recruits Constables in the central armed police forces, the BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, and SSB, plus Riflemen in the Assam Rifles. It is open at matriculation level, which is why it draws the largest applicant numbers of any SSC exam.

On the current ssc.gov.in portal, your photograph is taken live through your webcam or phone camera when you fill the form, so there is no photo file to resize for that step. Sit in good light against a plain background, facing the camera, with no cap, mask, or glasses.

Your signature, however, is still uploaded as a scanned file, and that is where this tool helps. SSC also captures a biometric, including a thumb impression, in person at the physical test stage, not at the form stage.

Sizing the SSC GD signature

SSC asks for the signature as a JPG of about 6 by 2 cm at 10 to 20 KB, signed in running hand with black ink on white paper. Block capitals are not accepted, so use your normal signature and let it fill the box.

Scan the signature, then resize it to the signature shape and compress to a KB size so it lands in the 10 to 20 KB window. If it falls under the floor, increase a too-small file to clear the minimum.

If you are on an older SSC form or simply want a passport photo ready, this tool is pre-set to a common 200x230 pixel, 20 to 50 KB photo. The tool resizes and compresses only and cannot replace the background.
