Resize an image to 1500x500 for an X (Twitter) header
Your X header looks fine in the editor, then the round profile picture and your name punch a hole through the bottom. 1500x500 is the header size X expects. The tool below is already set to it.

The X header banner size
1500x500 is a 3:1 aspect ratio, the header size for an X (formerly Twitter) profile. It is a wide strip that sits behind the top of your profile.
Matching the exact ratio keeps the banner sharp instead of stretched. The resize tool is pre-set to 1500 by 500.

Watch the profile photo overlap
Your circular avatar overlaps the bottom-left of the header, and your display name and handle render on top of the lower area. Anything you place in the bottom-left corner gets hidden.
Keep important visuals in the upper portion and toward the right. The header also reflows across phone and desktop, so leave breathing room rather than crowding the edges.
Trim the banner file size
A header is one of the first things a visitor loads on your profile, so a lighter file helps. After resizing, convert it to WebP for a smaller file at similar quality.
Resizing happens locally in your browser. Nothing uploads, so you can prep a header in private before you swap it in.
