GPSC Photo and Signature Size Maker

GPSC sets one of the harshest file limits anywhere: both the photo and the signature must come in at 15 KB or less. The OJAS portal enforces it to the kilobyte, so a file even slightly over is bounced, which makes compression the real challenge.

Output is JPG, resized to your pixels and kept at or under the max KB. If a minimum is set, the file is padded up to it. Always confirm the exact rules in the official notification.

The 15 KB OJAS limit

The Gujarat Public Service Commission recruits for Class 1 and Class 2 posts like Deputy Collector and Deputy SP, State Tax Officer, and assistant engineer roles. Applications route through the Gujarat OJAS portal at ojas.gujarat.gov.in.

The official upload page asks for a photo of 5 by 3.6 cm, around 130x180 pixels, and a signature of 2.5 by 7.5 cm, around 275x90 pixels, each capped at just 15 KB and saved as JPG. Note the signature is a wide landscape shape, unlike the tall photo.

Sign in black or blue ink on white paper, then scan. These figures are confirmed on the OJAS upload page, but specs can still vary by advertisement, so check yours.

Getting under 15 KB

Fifteen kilobytes leaves no room to spare, so start from a small image. Resize to the right pixels first, which alone cuts most of the size, then compress to a KB size to land on 15 KB or just under.

For the signature, the wide 2.5 by 7.5 cm box means a landscape scan. Resize it to roughly 275x90 pixels before compressing so the strokes stay clear at such a low file size.

Because OJAS rejects anything even one kilobyte over, aim a little under 15 KB rather than exactly at it. The tool resizes and compresses only and cannot change the photo background.
