WBPSC Photo and Signature Size Maker

The WBPSC portal is strict about one thing in particular: it accepts only JPG. A PNG, PDF, or BMP file is refused outright, which catches out candidates who export from a phone or scanner in the wrong format for the WBCS and other forms.

Output is JPG, resized to your pixels and kept at or under the max KB. If a minimum is set, the file is padded up to it. Always confirm the exact rules in the official notification.

JPG only, and the sizes

The Public Service Commission, West Bengal conducts the WBCS exam, the Miscellaneous Services exam, the Food Sub-Inspector recruitment, and other Group A to D posts. The photo and signature go in through a single combined upload step on the online form.

A photo of 3.5 by 4.5 cm, roughly 138x177 pixels, under 100 KB, and a signature of 3.5 by 1.5 cm, roughly 138x59 pixels, at 10 to 20 KB are commonly cited, both as JPG. The portal also caps scanning resolution near 100 DPI.

The pixel figures are computed from the print size rather than printed in the guidelines, so treat them as approximate and confirm the KB caps and format against your current advertisement.

Get the format and size right

If your file is a PNG or PDF, convert it before you upload. The simplest route is to resize to the right pixels and compress to a KB size, both of which output a JPG that the portal will accept.

Keep the photo on a plain white background with the face filling most of the frame, and sign in blue or black ink on white paper. Each file goes in at the combined photo-and-signature step, so have both ready together.

An oversized file is the other common bounce, so make sure the photo is under 100 KB and the signature near 10 to 20 KB. The tool changes size and format only and cannot replace the background.
