Kerala PSC Photo and Signature Size Maker

Kerala PSC has two rules that catch people out: your name and the date the photo was taken must be printed on the photo, and that photo stays valid in your Thulasi profile for ten years. Get the size or the printed text wrong and the upload is refused.

Output is JPG, resized to your pixels and kept at or under the max KB. If a minimum is set, the file is padded up to it. Always confirm the exact rules in the official notification.

The Thulasi photo rule

The Kerala Public Service Commission recruits for a huge range of posts, from Lower Division Clerk and Last Grade Servants to the Kerala Administrative Service, all through the Thulasi one-time registration portal.

The official photo spec is 150 by 200 pixels at no more than 30 KB, saved as JPG, on a white or light background with the face and shoulders clearly visible. Your name and the date the photo was taken must be printed at the bottom of the image.

That photo is then valid for ten years from the date you upload it, which is unusually long, so it is worth getting right once. Signature figures are less clearly published, so follow the instructions in your notification for that file.

Size the photo correctly

Add the name and date strip to the photo, then resize to 150x200 pixels and compress to a KB size so it lands at or under 30 KB with the text still readable.

Use a clear, front-facing photo where your eyes are visible and your face is centred. Goggles and a side-on pose are not accepted, though a religious head covering that does not hide the face is fine.

Check how recent the photo must be for your profile, since the rules on that have differed between cycles. The tool resizes and compresses only and does not add the name-and-date text.
